The School of Improvement in the science of Philosophy states and develops the idea that a person's, as well as mankind's, ultimate aim is one of improvement.

 The Institute for Philosophy of Improvement ,(IPI) tries to understand, apply, and promote the ideas of this philosophical school of improvement.

The Institute for the Philosophy of Improvement, (IPI)  encourages and lends support to subgroups, members as well as websites which promote the philosophy of improvement.

IPI encourages and lends support to anyone who promotes betterment, positive growth and improvement to an individual or society. This may include any individual, group, religion, organization or community.

IPI watches itself closely in order that it does not become a haggling academic school of sophistry; rather a simple academy of learning where almost anyone can gain substantial growth and understanding.

To understand oneself is to improve: to improve oneself involves understanding; yet, it also relies on applying this understanding to the self. Improvement involves action in a positive direction guided by common sense or reason. It further may involve an intuitive knowledge for what is right gained- by a lifestyle of good habits.
Philosophical improvement connotes improving oneself within: understanding universal principals and laws of nature and acting on them in order to make betterment in one's character.
